Chris Rea schrieb „Driving Home For Christmas“ 1978 im Londoner Stau. Erst 1986 erschien der Song – die Geschichte hinter dem Weihnachtsklassiker.
Das heute weltberühmte Lied entstand, als Reas Frau ihn in einem kleinen Auto aus London abholte. Gemeinsam wollten sie zur Feier mit der Familie fahren.
