Alfa Romeo wird 2024 ein sportives City-SUV anbieten

So etwas gab es schon mal, doch der Alfa Romeo Mito (Basis Fiat Punto) wurde bereits 2018 eingestellt. Im kommenden Jahr will die italienische Traditionsmarke in die Welt der Stadtautos zurückkehren. Im April 2024 soll der Kleinwagen als Milano erstmals vorgestellt werden.

Er wird nach dem italienischen Namen der Gründungsstadt des Unternehmens benannt, Mailand = Milano. Alfa Romeo kündigt den Milano als „Sport Urban Vehicle“ an, also als SUV. 

Wie der Fiat 600, der Jeep Avenger und der zukünftige Lancia Ypsilon kommt der rund 4,2 Meter lange Alfa als 1,2 Liter Dreizylinder Hybrid-Benziner wohl mit 100 PS und als vollelektrische Version (156 PS, gut 400 Kilometer Reichweite) auf den Markt.

Geplant ist die Einführung im September 2024.

 

Der Name Milano ist zwar neu in Europa, doch in den USA gab es so ein Modell schon einmal.

Von 1986 bis 1989 wurde der Alfa 75 in den USA auch unter der Bezeichnung Alfa Romeo Milano verkauft. 

Für viele Alfisti gilt der als „letzter echter Alfa“.  

Denn danach wurde die Marke vom Fiat-Konzern geschluckt.

Alfa Romeo has confirmed that its new small SUV will be called the Milano – and that it will be revealed in April 2024, before arriving at dealerships in September.

The sister car to the Jeep Avenger the Alfa Romeo Milano will be a 4.2-metre-long baby crossover based on parent group Stellantis’s e-CMP architecture. We’ve already had a sneak peek at the car’s styling, courtesy of some leaked pictures. The new model will be built at the same factory in Poland as the Jeep, and will share that car’s batteries and motors. But it will have a sharper focus on handling agility, according to Alfa boss Jean-Philippe Imparato.

Confirming the name, last used by Alfa Romeo on US-market versions of the 75 saloon back in the late eighties, Imparato said he was glad to end speculation suggesting the car would be called Brennero or even Junior.
